The Old & Plus range of Sherry Wines brings together the most select and chosen production of Sánchez Romate Hermanos. They are the best kept treasure of the winery: truly unique wines, certified by the Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin of Sherry with the rating Very Old Rare Sherry (VORS). 

 

This coveted seal (VORS) is awarded to the few wines that are over thirty years old after having passed a rigorous control process (batch by batch) by a committee of independent experts of the Regulatory Council in which exhaustive analytical tests with Carbon 14 that scientifically endorse the average age of the wine. 

 

Romate's Old & Plus are thus part of the privileged group of the oldest wines that can be drunk in the world, a list of gems valued as treasures of oenology by the most reputable experts. 

 

These wines have an average age of more than three decades, but they contain solera particles that can easily be more than two centuries old, going back to the very origin of the winery. 

 

They are specially selected wines that were traditionally separated from the rest by the previous generations of the owners of this winery for exclusive consumption by family and friends, and that are marketed, now as Old & Plus , for the enjoyment of lovers. of good wine.

Sánchez Romate Hermanos has dared to draw inspiration from the Ship's Decanter type bottles of the British Royal Navy of the 18th century, with a necessarily wide base to guarantee maximum stability in the admiral's cabin against the vagaries of the sea. A format especially appropriate for decanting old wines of this category, allowing maximum enjoyment of their organoleptic qualities. 

 

Old & Plus are three Sherry wines (an Amontillado, an Oloroso and a Pedro Ximénez) that are presented in an exclusive and innovative format, quite far from the classic Sherry bottle, and also very different from the usual bottles of reds or whites that we are used to seeing.
