Description:
Roda I is a red wine made by Bodegas Roda, in the D.O.Ca Rioja.
Roda is a modern winery that is located on a balcony in the famous Barrio de la Estación in Haro, capital of La Rioja Alta, in a 19th century cellar. Its facilities are tailored to the wines that are made there, where innovation is committed without leaving aside the centuries-old wine tradition of the region.
A cellar is a type of underground cave with a lot of humidity, which maintains a constant temperature throughout the year, making it a perfect place for preserving and aging wine.
At Bodegas Roda the wines are made and classified according to the characteristics that each payment provides. Each bottle reflects the landscape. These plots correspond to old vineyards that provide high quality grapes.
In the case of Roda I Reserva, the vineyards whose wines tend to express black fruit and depth have been assembled. The vineyards are selectively harvested looking for an optimal ripening point. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in oak vats with controlled temperatures. The wine is aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, 50% of which are new and the rest are single-use. Finally, it is stabilized naturally and clarified with egg white, bottled and spent 20 months in the cellar to finish rounding before going on sale.
Roda I Reserva is an ideal wine to enjoy now but also with excellent storage capacity.
