Description: 

Dominio de Es Viñas Viejas de Soria is a red wine made in the D.O. Ribera del Duero by the Dominio de Es winery, in San Esteban de Gormaz, Soria. 

After 10 years as technical director at Dominio de Atauta, Bertrand Sourdais begins this personal project in Ribera del Duero. Dominio de Es is made up of 4 plots (La Mata, Llanos del Almendro, Camino Olmillos and Valdegatiles) of pre-phylloxera vines on sandy soils, at about 1000 meters above sea level. 

The vineyard is worked biodynamically and the winery seeks a gentle and slow production, without the tannicity that Bertrand Sourdais gave to his wines a few years ago. Long aging in large, used barrels in order to value the complex finesse of the terroir where these fabulous wines are born. 

Dominio de Es Viñas Viejas de Soria is a wine made with Tinto Fino from vines that are more than 100 years old. With a small percentage of Albillo mixed in the same vineyard. Harvested manually, it ferments with 50% stems for 17 days at low temperature. Aged for 20 months in barrels of two Romanée Conti wines (Burgundy).
