Description:
Today football, more than a sport, is a business that moves billions of euros. But the immeasurable figures that elite athletes move are not always well used. Their careers are short and money has to be in motion to generate more profit. There are many footballers who have known how to take advantage of it, so it is not strange to find them as business partners that have nothing to do with the beautiful sport such as fashion, the real estate sector or wine. It is in the latter where midfielder David Silva, known by the nickname the magician for his dribbling and passing skills, debuted in 2019 as a winemaker under the Tamerán brand in Gran Canaria (Canary Islands). To do this, he acquires a large estate in the center of the island with 6 hectares of native vineyards and uses the experience of winegrower Jonatan García from Suertes del Marqués. All for the dream of making a great wine in his native land.
Among the references that we can find under the player's brand, Tamerán Malvasía Volcánica perfectly represents the essence of the project. A white wine of the Malvasía variety from vineyards located between 620 and 700 meters of altitude on the border of the municipalities of Santa Lucía and San Bartolomé de Tirajana (D.O. Gran Canaria). They are strains planted on volcanic rock with vegetal cover and cultivated in a respectful way to maintain maximum balance. Once in the winery, the grapes ferment with native yeasts in barrels. Afterwards, the wine ages on lees for 9 months in 25hl foudres.
