Description:
Goliardo a Telleira is a white wine made in the D.O. Rías Baixas by Bodegas Forjas del Salnés.
Forjas del Salnés has the collaboration of Raúl Pérez, the fashionable man in the world of wine in Spain, a winemaker known for his great work with the Mencía variety in El Bierzo and for his multiple collaboration projects in various wineries in Spain and in other countries in the world.
Goliardo a Telleira is a sister wine to the famous and coveted Sketch, which bears the signature of the great Raúl Pérez. The two wines are made from the same grapes, they are produced together and are separated at the end of the process for marketing. Goliardo a Telleira is marketed under Forjas del Salnés, while Sketch is marketed under the Raúl Pérez brand.
As for the production, Goliardo a Telleira is made from Albariño grapes. Grapes that come from a single vineyard of old vines between 60 and 80 years old planted next to the sea, a situation that is reflected in the saline character of the wines that are made from it.
Goliardo a Telleira carries out the alcoholic fermentation in large used 750 liter barrels. The intention is that the barrel interferes as little as possible with the personality of the terroir.
No malolactic fermentation is carried out. Once the alcoholic fermentation is complete, Goliardo a Telleira is bottled and immersed in the sea at a depth of 30 meters in special cages where it ages in the bottle for 3 months.
A great Albariño with a curious aging method. If you want to try it, hurry up! since only 900 bottles are made.
