    Description:

Château La Fleur-Pétrus is a red blend of merlot, petit verdot and cabernet franc classified as an AOC Pomerol wine.

Château La Fleur-Pétrus is a winery located in the eastern part of the Pomerol plateau, Bordeaux, owned by the Moueix family since 1953 and expanded in 1994 with a small plot formerly owned by Château le Gay. It is neighboring Château Lafleur to the west and Petrus to the south.

The vineyard of Château La Fleur-Pétrus extends over an area of 18.7 hectares and is planted with 91% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. The soils are gravel and deep clay on a subsoil rich in iron. They are harvested manually and the bunches are selected manually and optically.

Château La Fleur-Pétrus ferments in cement and stainless steel tanks. Fermentation and maceration are controlled as well as the temperature. Finally, once the wine has fermented, it undergoes refining aging for 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels. 50% of the barrel fleet is renewed annually.

Château La Fleur-Pétrus is an elegant wine, a little finer and more delicate than the others from Pomerol but which also has great aging potential.
