Description:
Many foreigners come to Priorat and fall in love with this wine region. But few people dare to go one step further and embark on an entire oenological adventure. This is the case of Michel and Christine Vanhoutle, two Belgian wine lovers who, when they discover this territory dominated by llicorella , unleash their knowledge and passion to make their own wines. This is how in 1999 they founded the Mas Alta winery located in the municipality of Vilella Alta, in the heart of the D.O.Q. Priorat (Tarragona) and, with the help of the prestigious French winemaker Michel Tardieu, they begin to create their own line of wines with a sincere priory character.
Cirerets is a blend of two of the great native varieties of Priorat: Garnacha and Cariñena. The grapes come from 50-year-old vines located at an altitude of between 450 and 650 meters, planted on licorella soils, the typical slate soils of Priorat. For its production, once the fermentation process is complete, it is aged for 18 months in French Allier barrels.
The Mas Alta seal is well impressed on Cirerets, a wine that, shortly after being born, has already achieved international recognition with the precious Parker scores. Without a doubt, a Priorat that you cannot miss.
