Mas Alta Artigas is a red wine that captivates with its intense fruit.
On the nose, it unfolds a fan of blackberries and black cherries. You will also find a dance of Mediterranean spices and herbs that add complexity and appeal.
On the palate, it presents itself with a medium body, balanced by soft tannins and well-integrated acidity. Sweetness mixes with balsamic notes, while earthy and mineral nuances give it depth.

Description:
Artigas is a red wine made by Bodegas Mas Alta in the D.O. Priorat. It is a blend of the Garnacha Negra varieties -as the main variety-, Cariñena and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The grapes come from our own vineyard and from winegrowers in the town of Viella Alta in equal parts.
The age of the vines ranges between 10 years, the youngest, and 90, the oldest. These grow on slate and calcareous-clayey soils, at between 250 and 450 meters of altitude.
These are low-yield vineyards in which high-quality grapes grow.
The harvest is manual and the Artigas beans go through a double selection process before vatting by gravity.
The subsequent fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature.
Artigas is finally aged for 16 months in French Allier barrels - 35% of which are new barrels, 30% first year and 35% second year.
Bodegas Mas Alta was born in 1998 when Michel Vanhoutte, together with his passionate Belgian partners, began their vineyard plantations in Priorat.
