Description:
Pedrouzos is a parcel wine that until 2021 is produced exclusively with grapes from a single, tiny pega (small plot), from which the wine takes its name. La Peza de Pedrouzos is one of the most iconic vineyards in Galicia, as it represents the origin of the Godello variety. It is located in the village of Portela, in the municipality of Vilamartín de Valdeorras. It was replanted by Mr. José Ramón Gayoso in 1885, after the destruction of the European vineyard by phylloxera. Starting in 2021, the wine is made with a selection of the best old Godello grapes owned by the family in the village of Portela, paying tribute with its production to the figure of José Ramón Gayoso, first generation of the family, revolutionary winegrower and pioneer in the monovarietal cultivation of the Godello variety in Galicia.
The aromatic intensity and subtlety of the wine are overwhelming. Fragile, delicate, in the mouth it is solemn, sapid and round, with a meaty texture that gives it limitless depth.
Wine for aging, it will unfold its character over the next 30 years.
