Description:
Valteiro is a small classified fish located in the village of Portela. It was planted from María Ardoña in 1985 by Mr. Francisco Prada Gayoso, continuing the family tradition of preserving native Galician varieties, and with the desire to obtain a world-class wine that reflected the inherent elegance of the variety through the minerality of the Valteiro's special soil, in which we find gravel intermixed with clay soils rich in red iron.
It is made from a single plot of María Ardoña, an ancestral Valdeorras variety recovered by Valdesil during the 1970s. It is a reissue of the mythical Valnereida, with which Valdesil revolutionized the concept of wines in the 90s. Galician reds.
The wine displays complex aromas of beautiful wild red fruits interspersed with delicate herbaceous notes, medium to full body with medium tannins and unique minerality.
