Description:
Leirana Albariño is a white wine made in the D.O. Rías Baixas through the Forjas del Salnés winery.
Forjas del Salnés is a small family winery located in the Salnés region (Pontevedra). Among its collaborators is the illustrious Bierzo winemaker Raúl Pérez, one of the most authoritative voices in Spanish viticulture.
Leirana Albariño is 100% made from the Albariño variety. The grapes come from 4ha of old vineyards between 40 and 60 years old, planted on sandy and granite soils.
Its preparation is traditional, it consists of fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Once the wine is finished, it is left to rest on its own lees.
Before being released to the market, the wine undergoes light filtration.
In addition, Leirana Albariño has a great precedent, its 2012 vintage was rated by the New York Times as the best wine from the Rías Baixas appellation.
