Ramos Pinto Adriano Tawny Reserva Porto is a light red.

On the nose, aromas of dry and soft fruits appear, such as plum and walnut.

In the mouth it is dense, with fresh fruit (plum, blackberry) on a very powerful background of dried fruits typical of the aging.

    Description:

Talking about Ramos Pinto Adriano Tawny Reserva Porto wine in the world of wine is the same as talking about mascara in the world of cosmetics; And we don't say it because it makes you look handsome, but because its success was so great that all port wines were known by that name. The name of the brand ended up becoming the personal name of the product, just like what happened to Coca-Cola, no one would think of ordering a soft drink of this type with another name in a bar, right? Well, in the 19th century, it never occurred to anyone to order a port in any other way than a glass of Hadrian, please. This phenomenon, known as lexicalization of a brand, is one of the greatest achievements that a product can have. And Ramos Pinto Adriano Tawny Reserva Porto had it in its day thanks to the vision of its founder, Adriano Ramos Pinto, who gives name to the winery that he founded in 1880 and where this wine is made. Without a doubt, he was a visionary and ahead of his time, who maintained exquisite management of advertising and merchandising, making the D.O. known throughout the world. Porto and the Douro Valley (north of Portugal).

Right in this enclave is where the farms and vineyards are located where the Tinta Roriz, Tinta Cao and Touriga Franca are grown with which Ramos Pinto Adriano Tawny Reserva Porto is produced. The centuries-old vines grow in the 286 hectares of which this legendary winery owns. Its soils and characteristics are varied, from clusters that grow at 110 meters of altitude, to those that grow at 600 meters on silty loam and granite soils. Respect for the land and its deep knowledge are other keys of this house, which since its origins has invested many resources in research and innovation. Only in this way have they been able to cope with the cold and humid winters and the tremendously hot and dry summers (with a marked oceanic influence).

After the harvest of Ramos Pinto Adriano Tawny Reserva Porto, the grapes are sent directly to the winery, where they are destemmed. In the case of port wines, the varieties are not usually distinguished, and they are all vinified together. After receiving and eliminating the stems, Ramos Pinto Adriano Tawny Reserva Porto goes into fermentation, where it will be in contact with the skins. In this process, the yeasts will transform the sugars in the must into alcohol, until once the grams of sugar desired by the winemaker have been reached, the process will stop. To do this, wine alcohol is added, creating an atmosphere where the yeasts cannot continue to survive, thus obtaining a powerful and sugary wine. In the case of Ramos Pinto Adriano Tawny Reserva Porto - like all tawnys - it will be aged for at least 6 years in typical Portuguese barrels, of 550 liters, known as pipas.

Coco Chanel once said everything that is fashion goes out of style; style ever. And Ramos Pinto Adriano Tawny Reserva Porto is a wardrobe item - or rather a cellar item - that cannot be missing in any home. A wine that despite everything, and no matter what happens, never succumbs to fashion.
