Description:
Martín Codax Organistrum is a white wine from the D.O. Rías Baixas prepared by Martín Codax. This wine is named after this peculiar instrument that requires two people to play. Currently there are only two copies and one of them is used by the Martín Códax Antiga Music Group in their performances.
This wine has been made with a selection of grapes that come from southwest-facing plots and is partially made in barrels.
After fermentation, the wine spends four months in French oak barrels from Allier. During the first month and a half, batonage is applied and once both fermentations are finished, it is preserved for eight months in steel tanks to achieve good integration.
The winery takes its name from Martín Códax, a well-known Galician troubadour whose "cantigas" are still preserved today, which are the oldest in the Galician-Portuguese language and whose parchment is exhibited in the Morgan Library in New York.
