Celia Vizcarra is a red wine from the D.O. Ribera del Duero made by Bodegas Vizcarra in Mambrilla de Castrejón (Burgos), a winery founded in 1991 by Juan Carlos Vizcarra, a wine enthusiast who decided to follow in his father's footsteps. Celia Vizcarra is a red blend with 95% Tinto Fino complemented by 5% Garnacha, with vines that are 55 years old. After being sorted on a table, the grapes are destemmed and fermented in new open 400-kilo barrels with three punch-downs daily at 27ºC. The wine is then aged in 95% French oak and 5% American oak barrels, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and is subsequently aged for 16-18 months.
