Description:
Dominio de Atauta is a red wine from the D.O. Ribera del Duero produced by the Dominio de Atauta winery.
The winery is located in the Atauta Valley (Soria), on the eastern edge of Ribera del Duero.
Dominio de Atauta is 100% made from the Tinto Fino variety. The grapes come from vineyards planted at 950 and 1000m altitude on limestone sand soils.
Due to the high altitude of the area, the vineyard endures constant strong winds that clean and dry the grapes. Furthermore, during the harvest weeks, the thermal oscillations between day and night are around 25ºC difference, which favors good ripening of the grapes.
For its production, Dominio de Atauta undergoes traditional winemaking. After maceration and alcoholic fermentation, the wine ages for 18 months in French oak barrels.
