Description:
Yaso Matteria Viñas Viejas is a wine created following 15 years of research and a search for the finest vineyards in the D.O. Toro region. The project reached its culmination in 2014, after five vintages, utilizing grapes from very old vines located in the villages of El Pego and Valdefinjas. It is a 100% Tinta de Toro wine. Yaso Matteria Viñas Viejas is one of our most exclusive offerings, with a limited number of bottles produced. It is crafted from grapes carefully selected from our old-vine vineyards in El Pego and Valdefinjas an area characterized by very poor, sandy, and pebbly soils, which are ideal for the development of the grapes. The wine is aged for 28 months in French oak barrels. Yaso Matteria is a full-bodied, well-structured wine that remains remarkably refined and balanced. It features intense aromas of black fruit, mineral notes, hints of menthol, creamy toasted oak, and floral touches of violet lending it a delicate, feminine quality. On the palate, it is luscious, fruit-forward, and powerful, with an exceptionally long finish.
