The Castro de Lobarzán winery is located in the town of Villaza (Monterrei). It is a family winery that has 5.2 hectares of its own vineyard on slopes with a 7% slope and sandy soils. 

One of the most important objectives of this winery is the recovery of native varieties of the area (specifically from the town of Villaza), by collecting material from these varieties for grafting. All the grapes produced in this winery are homegrown and the work is done manually (pruning, harvesting, etc.). The purpose of the winery is to produce totally natural white and red wines, respecting the typicality of the native varieties.
