Description:
Els Pics is a red wine made by Bodegas Mas Alta, in the D.O. Priorat. The winery is located in Vilella Alta, a municipality in the province of Tarragona.
Els Pics is a blend of the Garnacha and Cariñena varieties, with small percentages of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes come from vineyards planted on soils composed of slate.
To make it, a fermentation is carried out that lasts two weeks in which the temperature is gradually increased. Subsequently, a post-fermentation maceration is carried out.
Finally, Els Pics is aged for 12 months in cement tanks first and then in French oak barrels.
