Description:
For the production of Badaceli 2020, we use grapes from our La Solana de Cal Grau estate, located in El Loar (Tarragona). The combination of various plots within the "El Figueral" area, along with the diverse local topography, imparts a great complexity of nuances to the grapes. Clos Badaceli Garnacha 2020 is a wine that blends the characteristic profile of Priorat Garnacha with the minerality derived from *licorella* (slate) soils. The grapes undergo a 27-day maceration with their skins, and fermentation takes place in small stainless steel tanks a process totaling 29 days in contact with the skins. Finally, the wine is aged for 14 months in new or seasoned French oak barrels, resulting in one of our most exclusive and unique offerings. It displays a deep cherry-red color with a garnet-violet rim, characterized by intense mineral and ferrous aromas, complemented by notes of wild red berries. There are also hints of mint, aromatic herbs, forest floor, and earthy, stony undertones. On the palate, Badaceli is fresh and flavorful, featuring notes of wild forest berries alongside toasted, roasted nuances acquired during its time in oak.
