This is the jewel in the crown of Dominio de Es wines, although with a very different profile to La Mata. It comes from a plot located just a few hundred metres from the previous one, however, it expresses itself in a very different way, with a very original and wild side. In this case, 6% Albillo has been used for its production, and its production is so small that it fits in just three barrels.

Description:
Name: La Diva
Description: Pre-phylloxera vineyard located in the Atauta valley at 950 meters above sea level. Goblet training. Biodynamic cultivation. Planted on the lower part of the slope and facing east-north.
Surface: 0.3 hectares.
Age: More than 100 years.
Soil: Pure sand on limestone rock.
Climate: The 2022 vintage had an extremely hot summer and a significant lack of rainfall that foreshadowed another result, and yet it followed in the footsteps of the great 2019 vintage due to the precision and impeccable balance of the wines, but with a lighter architecture. 2022 was a year of record temperatures in summer, both maximum and minimum, and the almost absence of rain in summer. The winter was cold and dry and only in the months of April and May was there rainfall. All stages were developed three weeks earlier than the average of other years, and there was luck with the frost and hail. The grapes remained small due to the lack of water, but despite this the old vines did not apparently suffer from it.
Harvest: The harvest began on September 17, 2022 with fog and
cool temperatures in the morning. 1,309 kilograms were collected for the production of this red wine.
Vinification: Complete destemming of the grapes. Maceration for 57 days at a temperature between 17 and 28 ºC. Pumping over is carried out for 10 minutes during alcoholic fermentation up to 1040 and for 5 minutes until the end.
Aging: It is currently being aged in three semi-new French oak Burgundian barrels from the 2018 and 2021 vintages.
