- New
The first older brother of the well-known Glenfiddich 12 years old is Glenfiddich 15 years old. In addition to a longer aging time in the malts that make up the blend, the way in which the blending is carried out also changes. Known as Solera, the system used is inspired by the classic Jerez system but is very different.
In addition to the obvious change in the number of years of aging, there are two additional differences in the process. Firstly, the maturation of this single malt is carried out in three different types of oak barrels: barrels from the maturation of Oloroso type sherry wines, new oak barrels and ex-bourbon American oak barrels.
In a second phase, the pairing of the three malts obtained is carried out using a pine solera vat, that is, a vat where new vintages are mixed with old vintages and where essences and mixtures remain, since the vat is never empty below 50% of its capacity.

Description:
CATA's notes:
Glenfiddich 15 years is a soft golden color.
On the nose, the pear notes characteristic of the 12 year old evolve towards notes of honey and spices such as vanilla, with wood nuances appearing at the end.
In the mouth, Glenfiddich 15 surprises us very positively with its silkiness, after which fruity notes appear, very delicate notes of spices and finally oak wood. The finish is of medium intensity.
